Celebration of New Beginnings, Edison NJ

Celebration of New Beginnings was founded 11 years ago to increase public awareness of the progress, promise of cutting-edge research of the pharmaceutical industry and public health in the areas of maternal and infant health New Jersey.  The event traditionally honors a public servant by presenting them with the “FDR Visionary Award” for outstanding leadership and support of the mission of the March of Dimes to prevent premature birth, birth defects and infant mortality.

This year’s honorees are Lieutenant Governor of New Jersey, Kim Guadagno and Mark Trudeau, President and CEO of Bayer Healthcare.

Nurse of the Year, Edison NJ

The March of Dimes New Jersey Nurse of the Year Awards will honor the contributions of nurses statewide who have demonstrated excellence in the practice of nursing.  We will honor nurses who contribute through research, community services, education, advocacy and cliicl excellence to give all people a fighting chance against the threats to their health.

5K  for Health Babies, Piscataway NJ

The inaugural 5K for Healthy Babies supports the March of Dimes’ mission to improve the health of babies. Racers will run through beautiful Johnson Park on a certified, timed course.  Awards will be given to the top 3 males , top 3 females and top runners in each age group ages 13-20 and in 10 year increments from 20-80.  A Kids Race will take place following the race, with prizes for all children.

Participants who register online or return registration forms before October 6 will receive a 5K commemorative t-shirt.  All others will receive a t-shirt while supplies last.  All participants will receive a race bib.

March of Dimes Magical Mall Crawl. Elizabeth NJ

Join us on our Magical Mall Crawl of fun activities like face painting, temporary tattoos, color stations, crafts, stickers, store discount coupons and cool prizes!  There will also be story time and milk & cookies with Mrs. Claus.  Photos with Santa Claus, too!

This fun event for the entire family takes place at Jersey Gardens, New Jersey’s Largest Outlet Mall in Elizabeth, NJ.

Healthy Babies Benefit Concert, Somerville NJ

Healthy Babies Benefit Concert will feature Dion Roy, a singer-songwriter known for fusing his bass-inspired roots with his knack for writing an unforgettable pop/rock hook. Born in South Africa, and now a New Yorker, Dion got his start playing as a bassist in several bands on the Lower East Side music scene, and recently emerged as a solo artist. Dion has toured with high-profile acts like Tyler Hilton, Josiah Leming, Eve 6, Ryan Cabrera, The Donnas, Bleu, and Ben Kweller, while touring throughout the North-Eastern College circuit. Also featuring DJ Jerzee.

Wouldn’t it be nice to be at 39 weeks again? The Implications of Preterm Birth, Camden NJ

Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center, together with the March of Dimes – New Jersey Chapter will be hosting a Quality Improvement professional education conference for obstetricians, midwives, neonatologists, OB nurses and other health professionals.

Topics will include:

  • Recent New Jersey trends in gestational age at delivery in benchmark population.
  • How social norms can influence professional practice.
  • The relationship between labor induction and emergency cesarean by gestation age.
  • The links between early delivery and neonatal complications.
  • The ramifications of early and late preterm birth on the neonate.

This black-tie gala benefits the March of Dimes mission to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.  Since its inception 29 years ago, the Harvest Ball has raised over 3.5 million dollars.

CKO Totowa will be the host for this Ultimate Kickboxing Challenge. This days events will include the “Ultimate 90 Minute Challenge,” an intense high energy 90 minute workout run by CKO instructors from Totowa, Whippany, Hackensack, Butler & more.

Join Us Down The Shore!

Hit the road with thousands of individuals, motorcycle clubs, dealerships and vendors to help give all babies a healthy start! For more than 18 years, people all across the country who care about protecting the health of babies have ridden in Bikers for Babies, rain or shine.

Bikers for Babies allows riders and motorcycle lovers to promote and support the March of Dimes, while educating family and friends about the seriousness of premature birth, birth defects and other threats to babies’ health. You, too, can team up to raise money to fund research and programs that help moms and families!

Real Estate Award Cocktail, Far Hills NJ

The Real Estate Award Cocktail Reception is a testimonial which brings together approximately 200 executives from New Jersey Real Estate companies and related industries for a late afternoon/early evening cocktail reception.

From 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., participants can enjoy using the putting green and explore the lovely museum.

At 5:30 p.m., the reception begins. The event also provides a forum for the March of Dimes to raise awareness about its mission and to honor a leader within the real estate development industry for his/her contribution to maternal and infant health.

This year’s honoree is Jeff Schotz, Executive Vice President of Leasing & Marketing for SJP Properties, one of the New York metropolitan area’s leading developers of Class A office space.

Rangeela 2011- 10th Anniversary Celebration, Plainsboro NJ

Rangeela 10th Anniversary Celebration is a multi-cultural evening of food, music and dancing presented by the Mercer County Chain Reaction Youth Council and their adult mentors.  Featured performance from “Articulate” a group of visually challenged dancers from India as well as performances from Aatma, Timeless Music, Kalanjali, Nupur, Prerna, Sudhamini, Lanyun, WWPHS Jazz Band and more!
